[edit] Before we start

At the time of release, Drivekey is the easiest modchip to install in your Wii. Saying this, there are still going to be some customers that somehow stuff it up. The only way you can stuff it up is if you are rough, and not patient. You only need to mod your wii ONCE, once its closed, you never open it again. Please take your time and read all instructions before begining!

[edit] Opening your wii

There are a million guides on how to open and close your wii on the internet. The videos we made are inside these 2 videos here

Part 1 - Part 2

Just ignore all the bits in the middle about installing the chip! Alternatively - here is a picture guide - http://www.ozmodchipsfaq.com/wiki/index.php?title=A_guide_to_Opening_your_Wii

[edit] Drivekey installation

The only thing you need to configure is the little dip-switch on the drivekey. You remove that tiny yellow film over the switch, and select the configuration for your region. Actually, instead of me retyping everything, just follow the guide here - http://www.drivekey.com/how-it-works/

You can click the little pictures on the page to bring up more pictures.

Alternatively - here is a 10 minute video which slowly but surely describs how to install they Drivekey once the wii is open. Video on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boMA2gCzR0M

[edit] Testing

Make sure the drivekey is covered properly before closing your wii. The Drivekey comes with a picture of a "drivekey chick" that is used to cover the modchip.

Try and test out the wii before closing it, to save having to open it.

The first thing you should do is press eject on your wii 3 times to load up the config settings. The red light on the drivkey should turn on and a Gamecube disc should magically appear. When you are inside the disc you should be able to see all the settings. You will notice that the wii remote is deactivated, as you are in Gamecube mode! You navigate by clicking the reset button with "short" taps to scroll down. You change the setting by holding the reset button down for a second or so.

Save the settings, and try a import, or a game from your region on backup media. When you insert a backup, the Blue LED should flash.

[edit] Close Wii

Close up your wii, stick your little stickers around and start playing :)

[edit] Burning Media

Make sure you are using some good quality discs, like Verbatim. A good program to use is ImgBurn. Its free, and easy to use. Please use -R discs. +R will still work but you need to change the "booktype"...so you might as well just use -R and burn it normally. The speed you burn the disc at does not matter if you have a good burner!
